Luxury Hotels - Phnom Penh now boasts a range of luxury accommodation as it develops into a true international city again. Phnom Penh hotel options have increased steadily over recent years, but are not as wide-ranging as in Siem Reap. The situation can be summed up as:

  • 5* - A handful of very good international standard hotels, used by business and leisure travelers alike.
    We prefer:
    Raffles Le Royal - a historical refuge for visitors and expatriates in Phnom Penh
    Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra - the newest luxury hotel in town
  • 3*-4* - Some nice smaller properties, but quite a lot of older hotels that we prefer not to use.
    Our choices are:
    Amanjaya Pancam Hotel - large suites, located in the heart of the action on Sisowath Quay
    Le Biz Hotel & Library - new, with very modern styling
  • "Boutique" hotels and luxury guest houses - some lovely smaller properties, often unavailable at short notice.
    We particularly like:
    The Quay - beautiful stylish rooms looking out over the Mekong, with a rooftop bar
    The Kabiki - a garden oasis good for couples and families
