Amansara was King Sihanouk's 'guesthouse' during the 1960's for any royal visits he made to Siem Reap. Today, it is a carefully designed modern hotel which maintains it's original 1960's layout and style. Modern amendments have given the hotel an extremely luxurious feel providing a peaceful relaxing retreat in exquisite jungle surroundings.

The hotel is located on the road to the Angkor temples, approximately 5km away from the main site, and 2km from Siem Reap town center in the other direction.

All the suites are decked out in materials of the highest quality and style, however 12 of the 24 rooms also feature private 6 meter by 5 meter swimming pools.

The hotel specializes in limitless relaxation. You'll not find tennis courts or golf courses here, but rather a minimalist approach but where each feature is designed and completed to fulfil the most demanding standards of luxury. A wonderful restaurant, superb spa, and great pool within luxurious surroundings are principal features.

"This hotel is wonderful - it is a fascinating 1960s design which was King Sihanook's Summer palace. Nothing is too much trouble here for the brilliant GM, hios assitant and the staff. Siddharth (GM) and Budi (assistant) were so good that they would seemingly read our minds. When we were a bit disappointed withy our guide for the beautiful cambodian temples on our first day, they sensed it, and immediately replaced him... The food is delicious, and if you wnat it to, the hotel will provide you with an intinteray of sights to see for every day of your stay, which runs like clockwork. We absolutely loved this hotel, which is the only place to stay in cambodia. More expensive than other hotels, but absolutely everyting is included in the price, from food, travel and mini bar, so it works out to be a very competitive price. But even if this cost twice the price, I would go.We can't wait to go back!"
