You will be collected from your Phnom Penh hotel in the morning, ready for your private road transfer to the coastal city of Sihanoukville. Choose to stop at the village of Chambok in Kirirom National Park, or be driven straight through to enjoy lunch at one of the beachside restaurants.
It is possible to transfer direct from Battambang, although this is a full day of traveling, with lunch and comfort stops.
Today is spent exploring the beaches and wildlife habitats of Ream National Park. Ream is home to over 150 bird species, including fish-eating eagles, kingfishers, storks and the rare Brahminy kite. A full day can be spent here, looking at the wildlife (flying fish, dolphins, monkeys and birds), exploring the mountains or mangroves, or enjoying the white sand beach. Ream is unspoiled, with a small population continuing their subsistence fishing, and no development. Local rangers will act as guides to help you understand this beautiful reserve.
Simply relax on one of Sihanoukville's beaches - Sokha (for residents), Independence, Otres, Occheuteal, Serendipity and Victory beaches are all on the mainland. Optionally, you may wish to take a boat to one of the islands: relax in your own chalet on an undeveloped island in the Gulf of Thailand such as Koh Rong Samleom (home to Lazy Beach).
It is possible to arrange an overnight stay in (basic) accommodation, for that castaway feel.
The islands off Sihanoukville are home to some great diving, and a day out to Koh Tang (site of the Mayaguez incident in 1975 - the last act of the US in Southeast Asia) or its close neighbours, are surrounded by reefs that few divers or snorkellers visit.
Experienced divers may choose to stay overnight, and include a night or daybreak dive. A full range of diving courses can also be arranged: learn to dive and earn your PADI Open Water qualification, or extend your qualifications up to Rescue Diver or Dive Master courses.
Free and easy - enjoy the beach for one last day.
