Cambodian flights and connections are good to the major Asian hubs - Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, as well as Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Hanoi in Vietnam. Cambodia airports currently in use by international carriers are Phnom Penh Airport and Siem Reap Airport, while Sihanoukville Airport has been upgraded and scheduled flights should start later in 2010. Information, necessarily, is hard to keep up to date, but we can supply information on current Cambodia flight schedules, and advice on getting cheap flights to Siem Reap and Cambodia (not always possible on some routes, sadly). Have a look at our Cambodia flight finder for details of airlines that fly to Cambodia - Cambodia is imperfectly serviced by the budget airlines that now operate in Southeast Asia, and flying to Cambodia is sometimes much cheaper when done via one of the hubs - although this is obviously a much longer journey.
Immigration procedures
Immigration procedures are generally simple and hassle-free. Visas can be obtained on arrival at either international airport, so there is no need to arrange visas before flying to Cambodia, although electronic visas are now available. A one month tourist visa costs $20 (payable in cash) and a passport photo. This can be extended for one month after entry into the country. If intending to stay longer then a business visa is needed - $25 for one month, which can be extended for up to 12 months after entry into the country.
Exit procedures
When flying out of Cambodia, there is a departure tax of $25, payable at the airport in cash.
