Battambang Winery is in fact the only winery in the whole of Cambodia. Red and white wines, Cambodian brandy, and fresh grape juice is produced in this rural winery on the perimeter of Battambang city.
The winery, located on one of two routes out toward Phnom Banan, is not easily visible from the road so be careful or you will miss it. Several long vineyards are located behind a colourful outhouse where the wine is bottled, and where you can taste for free and buy any wines (or brandies) which you like. The vineyards are very peaceful and you can taste the grapes as you walk around the area. Further along the road are more vineyards located within the surrounding fields, and also Wat Bai Dom Ram, a modern temple where large fruit bats hang from a great tree at the entrance.
There is no entrance fee to visit the winery but as with any local initiatives we would encourage making a small contribution or purchasing some of the products on offer.
Battambang Winery
The winery is on the way to Phnom Banan so it's most likely you'll visit the winery either at the beginning or end of the day.
