Are there any nice modern hotels?
From Raffles to Sofitel, there is a generous choice in the main cities of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. As Cambodia enters the tourism and business global arenas and its capital becomes an international city, a wide range of high level accommodation options are becoming available from established luxury hotels such as Intercontinental (Phnom Penh) and Raffles (Phnom Penh and Siem Reap) to independent luxury 5* and boutique hotels such as Sokha, Amanjaya Pancam (Siem Reap) or Hotel De La Paix (Siem Reap). Outside the main cities the choice diminishes slightly simply due to less demand, but you can nearly always find high level accommodation all year round. Knai Bang Chatt in Kep or La Villa in Battambang are fine examples of quality accommodation outside of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
