PRIVATE TOUR - NOT A JOIN-IN TOUR

Do you want to take your photography to the next level and arrive home with outstanding images of the temples? As any keen photographer knows photography is all about the light and timing. At ABOUTAsia our expertise at "Angkor without the crowds" ensures that you will be at the temples to photograph them at their quietest and best - no mean feat when over 2 million visitors are flocking to Siem Reap every year. We’ll also take you off the beaten path into the countryside and to local markets to create even more captivating images. We work with some of Siem Reap's best professional photographers guaranteeing you great professional tuition while visiting the temples and other colourful destinations.

ITINERARY DETAILS

day 1Arrive in Siem Reap where you will be met by your expert ABOUTAsia guide and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy your first taste of Angkor with a visit to Banteay Kdei temple followed by sunset drinks on the moat of Angkor Thom, a world away from the tourist crowds.

day 2A single, magical day at the temples following our well researched crowd avoidance itinerary, including Ta Prohm of ‘Tomb Raider’ fame, Angkor Thom: Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King, Preah Palilay, Phimeanakas, Baphuon, and the Bayon with its captivating stone faces. During your tour enjoy a wonderful tuk tuk breakfast in the secluded forest temple of Ta Nei. Optional inclusion of private tuition by a professional photographer (supplement applies). (B)

day 3Experience the picturesque countryside of Siem Reap with Kimleng Sang, a self-taught photographer and experienced tuk tuk driver. He will lead the way to vibrant villages, past lush rice paddies and children riding atop water buffalos to show you a side of Cambodia rarely seen by tourists. In the afternoon tour the ‘Grand Circuit’ temples including Preah Khan, full of carvings, winding passages and great photo opportunities. (B)

day 4In the morning head into the countryside to jungle-clad Beng Mealea temple which, in a much collapsed state, retains a very atmospheric feel. Take a private boat onto the Tonle Sap lake, the richest freshwater fishing ground in the world, to visit one of the authentic stilted villages (either Kompong Kleang or Kompong Phluk depending on water levels). A picnic lunch is included. (B, L)

day 5Motor through the darkness of pre-dawn to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat as we guide you to the best photo vantage points. Explore the temple in the hours immediately after sunrise when the temple is at its quietest. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
