day 1Arrive in Hong Kong with private transfer to your hotel of choice.
In the early evening, board the legendary Star Ferry and cross the bay to Victoria Harbor. Venture into the history of Hong Kong as you walk along such landmarks buildings as the 1881 Heritage and Peninsula hotels. Continue to the backstreets of Kowloon, come across some of the city´s most lively markets, and feel first-hand the energy and soul of everyday Hong Kong. If you wish, conclude this evening by trying Hong Kong´s best variety of street food, or enjoy a couple of drinks at one of the area´s chic bars with splendid views over the city.
day 2After a leisurely breakfast in your hotel, explore the heart of Hong Kong, the Central. As you walk, admire architecture from well-known masters such as Lord Norman Foster, IM Pei and Kohn Pedersen Fox, but also structures from unknown builders, pedestrian bridges and escalators which connect the different spaces that shape Hong Kong's flow. Through these fascinating architectural examples learn about how feng shui and modern environmental features have been merged in present-day Hong Kong.
Next, visit the artsy backstreets around Hollywood road where unique restaurants, bars, cafes and small businesses created their niches over the centuries. To get there, take a ride on the famous double decker tram, since there is no better way to sit and watch life on the street. This tramline connects the hubs along the northern shore of Hong Kong Island since 1904. Continue your walk on the famous mid-levels escalator system to visit the creative hub of the PMQ. Conclude your morning walking tour at the other-worldly Man Mo Temple. The afternoon is for your own exploration of the city.
In the early evening, get lost in an exclusive culinary adventure. This three hour private tour takes you from market to table. It begins with a short walk through a lively outdoor food market where you learn about the unique ingredients of Cantonese food. Afterwards, stop for a craft cocktail at a bar tucked into a traditional old pawnshop. Then it is on to one of the top Cantonese restaurants for an evening of superb food, and expert tasting guidance from your hosts. The takeaway: you won´t just be enjoying a splendid Hong Kong dinner, you´sll be getting a food appreciation course at the same time.
day 3Enjoy the morning at your own leisure. You may opt to climb Victoria Peak or visit the giant Buddha on Lantau Island. Alternatively, journey into Hong Kong´s past at its borderlands. Join us for an optional, exclusive private tour of Shau Kei Wan, a former fishing village, or explore Fanling Town, a rural area ten minutes from mainland China, where ancient Song dynasty walled villages, wetlands and farmlands sit uneasily alongside monumental post-war public housing projects and luxury high rises.
In the afternoon, transfer to the airport.
