Are there nice beaches in Cambodia?

White sand tropical beaches without the hordes? Yes, it is possible in Cambodia. The gulf of Thailand near Sihanoukville is dotted with islands that offer a relaxed and secluded setting. Bamboo Island (Koh Russei), Koh Rong, Koh Ta Kiev, and our favorite Koh Rong Saloem, home of Lazy Beach. Day trips are possible, but (basic) accommodation means you can wake on a deserted beach if you desire. Koh Tonsay (Rabbit Island) near Kep is also undeveloped.

Ultimate luxury can be found at Song Saa, which has its own small beach, as well as running excursions to the 5-mile beach on Koh Rong.

For the party animals, Serendipity Beach and Victory beach are tourist beaches on the east and west sides of the town, with a range of western bars, restaurants and accommodation. Occheuteal is more popular with locals, and is filled with stalls selling (mainly Khmer) food and drink, hotels and guesthouses. For more information on Cambodian beaches please visit our
